    Adult Living Class (3/30/20 – 4/3/20)

    Date:3/30/20

    Class: Adult Living

    Overview: Recipe Book

    Estimated Time: 45 mins

Assignment: Day 1 of Recipe Book

Things to know: You will need a computer/laptop or a handheld device (such as cell phone) with the Canvas app on it, and internet access.

    Tasks:

    ·       You will be creating a recipe book, which you will add recipes into at a later date.

    ·       Today, you only need to create the cover page for your recipe book using word. Feel free to use word templates and title the recipe book whatever you want.

    ·       Eventually [not right now though] we will add recipes to your recipe book, and it won’t just be one type of food. So, when choosing a title for your book, please don’t choose something like “Brenda’s Desserts” as the title, because you won’t be able to limit your recipe to just desserts. So, a better title might be “Brenda’s Favorite Recipes”, etc.

    ·       Another thing to consider is that when you do add recipes [not today, but at a future date], you will not have to come up with your own recipes. You will add recipes that you like or would maybe someday like to try. You will find recipes and will cite your sources. So, when choosing a title, you might not want to pick a title that indicates that you came up with these recipes yourself. For example, “Brenda’s Very Own Original Recipes” might not be the best choice for a title, since you will not be the original creator of the recipes. Just a thought to keep in mind.

    ·       When you have finished your title page, submit to the appropriate Canvas Assignment.

    Class: Adult Living

Overview: Recipe Book - day 2

    Estimated Time: 45 mins

Assignment: Create an “about me” page for your recipe book

Things to know: You will need a computer/laptop or a handheld device (such as cell phone) with the Canvas app on it, and internet access.

    Tasks:

    ·       Create an “about me” page for your recipe book. In this page, you can include whatever you want about yourself. Some ideas of information to include could be types of foods you like, places you have traveled to, people you like to cook with, your culture and how it impacts your food interests, jobs you have had in the food service industry (ex. Waitress, host, etc).

    ·       There is really no right or wrong with this, it is your “about me” section. What kind of information would you want people to know about you if they picked up your recipe book and started making the recipes you added to the recipe book.

Spray windows and wipe with a paper towel (check with your parents first to make sure they have enough to spare) or you can use a rag/wash cloth. If you do not have Windex or glass cleaner, you can skip cleaning the window class and clean all around the window, including the dust off the bottom of the windows using a wet rag.
