Mrs. Leuthe
I have been an HPE teacher for 21 years and was fortunate to see Mill Creek Elementary being built and open 20 years ago. I am still at Mill Creek this year and will also be teaching at Warwick Elementary for my second year.
I grew up in Montgomery County, graduating from North Penn High School. While at North Penn, I was able to accomplish All-State/All-American in 3 sports (swimming, waterpolo, track & field) for all four years. After high school, I attended and swam at Clarion University for 2 years. After those 2 years, I transferred to Lock Haven University, where I was able to major in and earn my B.S. in Health & Physical Education K-12. While at Lock Haven, I had the opportunity to student coach the girls swim team for a year and then was on the Track & Field team participating in the heptathlon. Before graduating from LHU, I completed my student teaching in the NP school district, was an assistant coach for the girls track & field team and coached the youth community swim team. After graduation, I was a long-term substitue at Upper Perkiomen high school and coached the boys and girls waterpolo and swimming teams. After UPHS, I became a long-term substitute at John Barclay Elementary for half of a year followed by opening MCE in 2000. In my early years at MCE, I went back to school and earned my masters degree in education.
My husband and I have a 13 year old son and twins (boy/girl) who are 11. We are very involved with coaching and volunteering while living in the Pennridge School District. For the past 3 years, I have been the Vice President of the Pennridge Greenjackets Youth Football & Cheer Organization and our kids are keeping us extremely busy with all of the sports teams they are involved in throughout the year. 10 sports teams, 1 Irish dancer, and can't forget about our awesome dog Murphy. Wouldn't change it for the world!
