    Overview:  Filling out a graphic organizer

    Estimated time: 20 minutes

    Explanation:  Students should be able to fill out a graphic organizer about a picture prompt.

    Tasks: 

    1.  Go into your English OneNote under the "graphic organizer" tab.  You will see a picture prompt with today's date and the title "Tent." 

    2.  Look at the picture prompt.  Think about what you see in the picture, all the details (who, what, where, when).   

    3.  Fill out your graphic organizer based on what you see in the picture.  Remember, the topic sentence is your opening thought.  An example might be "Mike, Bobby, and Joey decided to go camping one night."  Then, fill out the details (the inside of your burger).  Last, think of a "closing sentence."  A closing sentence wraps up your paragraph.  Example:  "The three boys had a blast sleepnig outside together!"

    1.  On the first page, you will read and follow the directions.  The top part of the page you are just circling the capital letters.  In the section below, you need to find the proper nouns that should be capitalized and circle those letters.

    2.  On the second worksheet, you need to read each sentence and circle the errors.  At the end of each sentence it tells you how many errors there are in each sentence.  After you circle the mistakes, you are to re-write the sentence the correct way.

    Overview:  Writing detailed sentences about a picture prompt

    Estimated time: 20 minutes

    Explanation:  students should be able to write detailed sentences about a given topic including a Who, What, Where, When as well as adjectives (describing words).

    Tasks: 

    1.  You can open your email where I have emailed you the assignment in case ONE NOTE does not work. You can type up your work in 365 if you are comfortable doing that.  You can open your ONE NOTE, go to your English folder and click on St. Patrick's Day.  There you will see a picture prompt and the directions.  Whichever way works best for your works for me:)

    2.  Write your name and date at the top along with the title "St. Patrick's Day"

    3.  Take a minute to look at the picture and think about all the details you see, what is going on in this picture? 

    4.  Create five sentences about the picture.  Make sure you include a Who, What, Where, When as well as an adjective (describing word) in each sentence. 

    4.  Share with Kramer or if you did it in ONE NOTE it automatically will  save and I can give you feedback through there.

    Explanation:  Students should be able to guess who the community helper is based on specific clues they are given in the PowerPoint. 

    Tasks:

    1.  Open up the PowerPoint below, "Guess the Community Helpers."  This is a fun quiz for yourself to see how many you can get correct. 

    2.  There are slides that give you clues.  Based on the clues, you need to guess WHO the community helper is they are talking about.  On the next slide will be a picture of the answer so you can see if you are correct.  See how many you can get correct.  You can also quiz someone in your house to see how many they can get correct.

    3.  Have fun playing!

    4.  When you are done, send me an email with how many you got correct.  Also let me know if you were able to quiz anyone else at home.
