Distance Learning Phase 2
Welcome to my Distance Learning Phase 2 Page for Modern World History Honors. During this phase the course will be moving forward in the curriculum with a focus on covering the major objectives and points of each unit. The frame work for my course during Phase 2 will be as follows:
Daily Expectations for Students:
1. Daily check in and attendance in meeting held at the start of our Class time (as posted) via the use of Microsoft Teams.
2. Check my Teacher Website for Daily and Weekly Assignments and accompanying emails.
3. Assignments will be posted in the pull down menu to the left.
Office Hours:
For First Block MWH- I will be available at 9:30 a.m. (Unless otherwise noted) on Monday and Wednesday via Teams, and also via email at sblake@cbsd.org
For Fourth Block MWH- I will be available at 12:00 p.m. (Unless otherwise noted) on Tuesday and Thursday via Teams, and also via email at sblake@cbsd.org
Classroom Tools:
Our class will be using a combination of my Teacher Website, District Email and Microsoft Teams for the assigning and collection of work.
Resources:
We will be relying on the use of this teacher website for daily agendas, Email for specific communications and materials sent as attachments, the Online Textbook, Ancillary Materials as Assigned, and Microsoft Teams.
Distance Learning Phase 1
Welcome to the Distance Learning Page for Modern World History Honors. Posted below will be daily activities and lessons designed to enrich, expand and reenforce topics and material introduced to date in the course. Students will rely on the use of their on-line textbook, ancillary packet materials, and additonal materials and prompts that may be delivered to students via District Email. As such, students are encouraged to check their email on a daily basis.

- We are reviewing the first part of our current Unit. Assignment- watch 2 video assignments -
The first revisits Unification and the second explores the reforms following the Congress of Vienna.
- As you watch these Videos, please complete the Questions and return them to me completed for my review and input.

TOPIC: Core Preparation
ESTIMATED TIME: 45 Minutes
TASKS:
- Read Chapter 11 Section 1 and 2 to gain a basic understanding on New Imperialism to help you to better focus your research in support of your core. More details will be provided via email.
- Watch the video clip included in the email on New Imperialism
- Both of the above tasks are designed to provide a foundation upon which you may further develop your research as it relates to your specific country.

ESTIMATED TIME: 45 Minutes
TASKS:
- Using the online library resources- e books, data bases, etc, or on line resources of your own, you are to begin working on the completion of sections 1 and 2 of the Guided Research Assignment in support of your Core. Please continue to be mindful of deadlines, though they may be modified in light of Distance Learning. I will keep you informed of any changes.
- Continue to develop your Annotated Bibliography. Remember as soon as you find a source, you should apply the following analysis: Does this help me? How? How or where might I use this? What part of the story does it help me tell? And, is this a credible and valid source? Then Immediately add it into your annotated bibliography to keep track of your research and to predict where it might help you.
