      • Students will read an article on the importance of exercise on bone health.

    Monday, March 30th, 2020:

    Overview: Enrichment Activity – Monday Museum Day!

    Estimated Time: 45 Minutes

    Explanation: Students will visit the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

    Tasks:

    1.Click here to visit the museum’s virtual tour page (https://naturalhistory.si.edu/visit/virtual-tour)

    2.Enjoy the museum! You can visit current and past exhibits and travel around the museum.

    3.Share your trip. You have several options to share your experience. In all choices you will share the pictures you took, tell one thing you learned, and share your favorite exhibit and why it was your favorite!

    a.Create a video for FlipGrid telling us about your trip (you can make a video with your phone or laptop and just upload it). Submit your video in FlipGrid. (https://flipgrid.com/maida3797

    b.Make a PowerPoint - you can use text or you can record audio to tell us about it. Submit your PowerPoint on Canvas.

    c.Make a photocollage and snip a picture of it. Then write about your experience to answer the above questions in a text box. Submit your collage in Canvas.

    d.Show off your trip in any other creative format you want as long as you include the required information!! Submit it on Canvas or email if you need to.

    1.Complete a mindful breathing exercise. Stop, Breathe, and Think have some good ones on Youtube!

    2.Record one positive experience from the past 24 hours.

    3.Watch the Crash Course Central Nervous System Video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8NtmDrb_qo&t=5s)

    4.Complete Activity Sheet that goes along with the Video: Go to Canvas and open the sheet. YOU WILL SEE THREE VERSIONS. You only need to complete ONE (complete the one you feel most comfortable completing).

    • Open the Document in the Modules. It is a Word document, so you will be able to write on it using the “Draw” tool in Word. You may also type your answers.  Complete the document, save it, and upload it in the assignments tab.  Make sure to include your name at the top of the document.

    Explanation: Students will choose a fitness/exercise related Ted Talk to watch and complete accompanying response questions.

    Tasks:

    View Canvas for daily PowerPoint and links for sample exercises to complete - https://cbsd.instructure.com/courses/26975

    1.Head to Canvas to access Ted Talk response sheet.

    2.Go to www.ted.com

    3.Choose a Ted talk to watch that is fitness or exercise related. YOUR CHOICE! Try to choose a talk that is 10-20 minutes long.

    4.Complete the Ted Talk Response Worksheet as you watch the talk. This is a Word document so you will be able to either fill it in or use the Draw tool in Word.

    5.Once you have completed the document, save it, and upload it in the assignments tab.
