  • Hello and welcome to my distance learning page!

    I will be available to communicate using my CBSD e-mail (Ccallan@cbsd.org) between the hours of 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM and will be using Canvas to collect all student fitness logs and provide feedback.  A new Assignment will be given each Corresponding "A" day.  

    I created a Distance Learning Module which will have everything you need to complete the assignment but you must check this website Daily to see What the assignment will be .  Please feel free to use the resources on canvas or to create or find your own resources.

  • GOOD MORNING LENAPE 9TH GRADERS! 

    Welcome to our last and final Class meeting of Phase 2 of the Central Bucks School District Distance Learning Initiative!  We have made it to the end of the 2019-2020 school year, at least in regards to your Health and PE!  Congrats on all you have accomplished and learned this year, it has definfitely been a year unlike any other.  You should be proud for overcoming a lot of obstacles this year! We will be meeting on Microsoft Teams on last time this week during our regularly scheduled class times.  I look forward to seeing you all one more time! 

    I wanted to take this time to thank all the students that have been staying on top of their Health and PE work I know this can be difficult and is new for all of us, but just know that this ability to adapt quickly will make you and myself stronger and better people in the long run.  If you have missed any assignemnts  I wanted to give a quick run down of what was assigned to help bring some students up to speed.  I understand some of you have a lot on yuor plate and it may be tough to find the time to get all your work done but I just wanted to say hang in there and try your best.

    This class meeting will be similar to meeting #1 in that we will go over the health PowerPoint and assignment and you will be expected to complete the assignment by the end of the session's asynchronous time period which you will see below depending on whether you are in the 6th or 7th period class.  The physical fitness log will be the same setup.  You will be expected to complete 3 exercises per week, which comes out to 6 total exercises by our next class meeting day.

  • Good Morning Lenape 9th Graders! 

    Welcome to Phase 2 of the Central Bucks School District Initiative. This portion of the Distance Learning will be graded and must be completed by every student.

    We will be continuing with a fitness log like we did before but it will be set up differently since you will be using it for 2 weeks before submitting it, not just one entry.  The resources for the physical fitness exercises are still located on Canvas under the Distance Learning Module.  Going forward, you bi-weekly assignments will be posted in a new moduled labeled with the bi-weekely date ranges that the assignments are geared towards. 

    In addition to the physical fitness log we will be be giving Health assignments that must be completed during the scheduled class meeting time every two weeks.

    I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to stay active.  We have spent the past 2 weeks focusing on the 4 components of fitness so today we are going to switch gears and focusing on mindfulness.  Sometimes it is important to slowdown, center ourselves, and focusing on our mental health.  This can be a stressful time full of unknowns but togehter with our family and loved ones we will great through this time stronger then ever.  Today and tomorrow I want you to focus on your mindfulness.  Please visit the mindfulness module in canvas to see some videos to use as resources.

  • Good Morning 9th Graders!  

    I hope you all had a nice weekend and were able to enjoy your Monday even though it was rainy and get some learning time in!  Since I posted a workout suggestion yesterday, today is yours to try to complete the workout if you haven't already and/or try something new.  

    I hope you are getting to have some quality family time during this difficult situation.  Remember to stay safe and be healthy!

    Since we didn't have any distance learning on Friday, I am going to be posting every other day starting today, Monday March 23, 2020 and not require you to worry about whether it is an "A" or "B" day. 

    When I post a suggested workout with a new fitness component to focus on you will have 2 days to complete and submit before I post the next.  Do your best to complete the suggested workout but most importantly stay safe and do your best to enjoy this quality time with your family.

  • March 17th - focus on Cardiovascular Endurance

    Canvas - 9th Grade - Physical Education

     

    Task -

    Students must focus on the four COmponents of fitness, as well as, Mindfulness while designing and completing their fitness activity/exercise (Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, and Flexibility). 

     

     Estimate Time

    30 minutes every other day.

     


    OVERVIEW 

    -The P.E. lesson is for grade 9 and can be done on the "a" day schedule every other day.

    -Students will check canvas and work on a personal fitness exercise that they can do at home.  Submission should be done every other day. 

    -The expectation is that the work out or time spent creating the workout should be at minimum 30 minutes and an every other day submission will be checked.
