    Directions for Distance Learning Week of June 1-5 Heat Transfer

    1.  Download the Heat Transfer ppt. and go through the ppt. as Mr. Lenet is teaching within the ppt. 

    2. Click on the Heat (Thermal Energy) Transfer ppt. and click on the link within the ppt. Begin lab. Make sure you read the directions on the handout to complete the lab.

    3.  There is an Heat (Thermal Energy) Transfer handout which goes with the Heat (Thermal Energy)  Lab and is to be completed and turned in.

    4. Complete the Heat (Thermal Energy) Transfer handout and submit it in the Assignments section in Canvas.

    5. Complete the Heat Transfer Formative Assessment. 

     

     

    Distance Learning Week of May 25-29 Heat and Temperature

    1.  Download the Heat and Temperature ppt. and go through the ppt. as Mr. Lenet is teaching within the ppt. 

    2. Click on the Insulation Lab ppt. and click on the link within the ppt. Begin lab. Make sure you read the directions on the handout to complete the lab.

    3.  There is an Insulation Lab handout which goes with the Insulation Lab and is to be completed and turned in.

    4. Complete the Insulation Lab handout and submit it in the Assignments section in Canvas.

    5. Complete the Heat and Temperature Formative Assessment. 

     

     

    Distance Learning Phase 2 Week of May 18-22   Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources

    1. Go to Mr. Lenet’s Canvas.
    2. Click on the Non-Renewable and Renewable Resources- Distance Learning ppt. Download the ppt. and go through the ppt. I am teaching on the ppt so make sure you go through the whole ppt.
    3. Click on the Brainpop- Natural Resources ppt. Click on the Brainpop link and follow the directions. Search for Natural Resources video. Watch the video and complete the Brainpop Natural Resources handout.
    4. Click on the Renewable and Non-Renewable resources Scavenger hunt ppt. Click on the link in the ppt. and then complete the Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources Scavenger Hunt handout.
    5. Complete the Energy Resources Formative Assessment.
    6. Submit the Brainpop Natural Resources handout and the Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources handout in the Assignments section in Canvas.

     

     

    Distance Learning Week of May 11 -15   Energy Coversions

    1. Go to Mr. Lenet’s Canvas and go to the May 11-15 Module.
    2. Click on the Energy Conversions Distance Learnng ppt. and download the ppt. Go through the ppt. and watch read and watch the ppt.
    3. After you watch the Energy Conversions ppt., click on the Energy Conversions Virtual Lab-Student Copy. Read through the directions.
    4. There is an Energy Conversions Virtual Lab handout that goes with the Energy Conversions Virtual Lab ppt. Complete the handout. There are 4 pages to the handout. However, most of it is pictures to help you with the lab.
    5. After you finish the Energy Conversions Virtual Lab, watch “Mr. Lenet Demo of Energy of a Bouncing Ball Lab. I walk you through the Energy of a Bouncing Ball Lab. DOWNLOAD THIS PPT. TO VIEW THE VIDEO!
    6. There is an Energy of Bouncing Ball- Distance Learning handout. That needs to be filled out after watching the Mr. Lenet Demo of Energy of a Bouncing Ball Lab.
    7. Both labs- The Energy Conversions Virtual Lab and the Energy of a Bouncing Ball Lab needs to be completed and submitted in the Assignments section in Canvas.
    8. Complete the Energy Conversions Formative Assessment. 

    Distance Learning Week of May 4th -7th     Forms of Energy  

    1. Go to Canvas. Open the Modules section and download the Forms of Energy ppt.
    2. Go through the Forms of Energy ppt. as I am teaching on that ppt.
    3. After you go through the Forms of Energy ppt., Open the Forms of Energy -Student Copy2 ppt.
    4. You must complete the whole ppt. It is a summary of all of the forms of energy. There are 3 total slides that you must fill in information for about the forms of energy. All slides must be complete. I give you websites to use as well as the Energy Textbook in pdf format. You can use Google as resource.
    5. After you fill in the Forms of Energy-Student Copy2, you will complete the Energy Experts Research Project. All of the directions are stated in the handout. You will choose any of the 6 forms of energy to research. I included questions to answer on the handout. You must answer those questions and include it in your project. Then you are to take your research and “teach” me what you learned in a powerpoint with audio or any video program that you can use to show me what you learned.
    6. Submit the Forms of Energy-Student Copy2 and your Energy Experts research project in the Assignments section on Canvas. Good Luck!

    Several students stated to me that there is no "Mix" option on their ppt. So, I updated what you can do. You can add audio to the ppt. I show you how to do this in this Module. 

     

    Distance Learning Week of April 27-30

        1. First go to Canvas and download the GPE and ME - Distance Learning ppt. Watch the ppt. 

        2. Open up the MatchBox Car Lab Video ppt. Go through the ppt. The are 2 options in the ppt. Listen to both options. Follow directions in the ppt.

        3. After you go through the MatchBox Car Lab ppt, complete the MatchBox Car Lab handout. Fill in the data either by performing the lab or getting the data in the video

            in the MatchBox Car Lab ppt. 

        4. Open the Energy of a Pendulum ppt. Click on the link and follow directions in the ppt.

        5. Complete the Energy of a Pendulum handout. There are 3 pages. Complete all 3 pages. 

        6. Complete the Energy #2 Formative Assessment.

     

    Distance Learning Week of April 20- 23 

    Energy, Kinetic Energy and Potential Energy

    1. First go to Canvas and download the Energy ppt. Then watch the ppt.
    2. Open up the Brainpop ppt. There is login information on the ppt. Watch two videos, one on Potential Energy and one on Kinetic Energy. You might have to search for both on the site. It is easy to find though.
    3. Complete the Brainpop handout. There are two handouts, one on Potential Energy and one on Kinetic Energy.
    4. Open the 3rd ppt. on Phet: Skatepark Energy Basics Lab. Click on the link in the ppt. and begin the lab.
    5. Complete the lab handout. All of it. There are 3 pages but a lot of it is diagrams.
    6. Complete the KE problems worksheet. I did the first one for you as an example. Follow my example and you should not have any trouble with it.
    7. Lastly, complete the Energy. Kinetic and Potential Energy Formative Assessment. That can be found in the Modules sections.
    8. Make sure you submit all of the handouts in the Assignments section in Canvas. There are 3 handouts to submit, Brainpop handout, Phet Energy SkatePark Lab, and Kinetic Energy Problems handout.

     

     

    Distance Learning Week of April 13-16 Elements and Compounds 

    1. Go to Mr. Lenet’s Canvas.
    2. Click on and Download the Elements and Compounds ppt. Go through the ppt. I am recorded on the ppt. through an Office Mix like last week.
    3. Then open up and complete the Elements I Should Know with Periodic Table handout.
    4. Then open up the Adopt an Element ppt. You are to choose an Element to research and put your research right into this ppt.
    5. Then complete the Compounds Scavenger Hunt handout.
    6. Lastly, complete the Elements and Compounds Formative Assessment. You have 2 chances to take it.
    7. There is an Element Song ppt. which is optional. It is just fun songs on Elements.
    8. Submit the Elements I Should Know handout, the Adopt An Element ppt, and the Compounds Scavenger Hunt in the Assignments section. 

     

     

     

    Week of April 6th - 9th Physical and Chemical Changes

    No Live Meeting for periods 5,6 and 7 this week!

    1. Start with the Physical vs. Chemical Changes ppt. Download the ppt. Go through the ppt. I have recorded me teaching new material on the ppt.  There is no notes handout. The ppt. is your notes.
    2. Then open the Physical vs. Chemical Changes Video. Watch the video and answer the questions on the Physical vs. Chemical Changes Video handout.
    3. Then open the Physical vs. Chemical Changes Virtual Lab. Go to the site and fill out the Physical vs. Chemical Changes Virtual lab handout.
    4. Finally, complete the 10 question Physical vs. Chemical Changes Formative Assessment. You can take the assessment 2 times. 
    • Submit the Physical vs. Chemical Changes Video handout and the Physical vs. Chemical Changes Virtual lab handout in the assignments section.
