             3.    Write down the job that you would like to see assigned to you and a brief explanation as to why you are suitable for that job.

             3.    Based on your observations and knowledge of your assigned classmate, write down the job you think is most suitable for him or her. Include a                      brief explanation as to why you chose that particular job for that person.

             4.  Bring your favorite beverage to toast each other, the year we have spent together, and the year ahead.  You will be invited to share your toast!

             2.    Read chapters  12 through 16.  Complete the reading notes for these chapters. Submit. (You will take a quiz on chapters 8 through 16 after we                      meet on Teams.                 

             3.    Giver Vocab. - round 2 -  Use context clues in the sentence to define the vocabulary word.  Write your answers on the vocabulary sheets you                          should have in your binder/folder.) 

             4.    The Giver finally shares his favorite memory with Jonas.  Draw a picture of one of your favorite memories. Include a caption that describes the                      memory and explains why it is one of your favorites. Take a photo of your work and e mail it to Mrs. Szagola. (make sure I can see it!) No stick                      figures or pencil drawings!

    Time :     60 - 90 minutes

It was ironic that the main character's high intelligence was ultimately what caused him to be put to death.  It is the opposite of what the reader expected!  In today's lesson, you will write a creative short story using irony.
