Parents: Below are several resources for your child to practice working on his/her speech and language skills while at home. I have carefully chosen resources to post here for you to review and use. I will be posting on Seesaw as well. In some cases I sent home hard copies of an activity. I suggest that you review your child's IEP goals to determine which resources and websites below will be most beneficial for your child.
I encourage you to click on the home practice links as they include a month-at-a-glance for daily quick activities to target language and articulation. The third and fourth resource below are general suggestions on how to incorporate speech and language during the day and a list of games that foster language development. There are so many ways to incorporate language and articulation practice into daily activities. Reading a book with your student allows for so many opportunities. Scholastic has set up a home learning site for web-based book access here https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome.html that parents can sign up to use for free. It is an excellent resource! Check it out!
For students who are confused by the change in routine or new schedule I recommend that you visit
https://theautismeducator.ie/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/The-Corona-Virus-Free-Printable-Updated-2-The-Autism-Educator-.pdf for a printable social story.
Please email me directly with any questions that arise. mrothstein@cbsd.org
