Meet Mrs. Hutchinson
Hello fabulous fourth graders and parents!!
Welcome to our class website! I can not wait to meet you and for you to become a part of our classroom family. I am excited to learn all about you during the first few weeks of school, so I wanted to share a little bit about me! I am a Council Rock graduate and have spent most of my life living in Bucks County. I also spent some of my childhood growing up in Blacksburg, Virginia and Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania! I went to Penn State University (WE ARE!) where I majored in Elementary Education. Since then, I have worked in State College Area School District, Council Rock School District, and Central Bucks School District. Over the years I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade.
I LOVE fourth grade for so many reasons. I enjoy watching my students grow more independent and responsible throughout the year. I strive to make learning fun and engaging, and the 4th grade curriculum provides a wonderful platform for that. I have earned a masters degree from Holy Family University in Reading Instruction, as well as a second Masters degree in Educational Technology from Wilkes University. In addition, I have been published in an educational journal for my work with service learning in a second grade classroom.
On a more personal note, I come from a large and loving family. I have two older brothers and the most wonderful parents. My oldest brother lived abroad in China and Hong Kong for 8 of the last 10 years, and my other brother also travels the world while running his own companies. As you can tell - we LOVE to travel. Also, I have an amazing husband named Howard. We live in Perkasie with our amazing Bernese Mountain Dog named Sawyer. I can't wait to share my stories and experiences with you!
I feel honored and privileged to be your teacher. We are going to learn and grow together each and every day. Get ready for an incredible year in fourth grade!
