Dear Fifth Grader,
Welcome to 5th grade! I am looking forward to experiencing many new things together. We will inspire, teach and learn from each other and lift each other up along the way. I am committed to making this year as special and unique as you are! Our classroom community will be a safe place to ask questions, share stories, take risks, challenge each other, celebrate our successes and learn from our mistakes. We are in this together, and together we will succeed! Be ready to work hard, grow as a learner, make new friends, become part of a classroom community, and most of all, have fun!
It is hard to believe this will be my 29th year teaching in Central Bucks. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade. I am excited to be back in 5th grade after spending last year as a 6th grade teacher! I hope you find 5th grade to be fun, yet challenging. We have lots to look forward to!
When I am not at Groveland, I love to spend time with my family and friends. My husband and I have two adult boys. Gabe is 27 and Jack is 20. Gabe has a 3 year old puppy named Finn, who is a bit crazy! One of my favorite thing to do is puppy-sit for him! Jack is a junior in college, and is into photography and basketball. We have been busy at my house working on home projects. I am not one to sit around and relax, but when I do you will find me floating on a raft in our pool with a good book.
Last year was a challenge for all of us. You learned a lot about yourself as a student. Let's take those lessons and use them to help make this the best year yet!! So, now you are a 5th grader! Let's make it awesome!! I am looking forward to seeing your smiling faces in person on Monday, August 30th. I would love to hear from you before that, so feel free to send me an email to just say hi, share something about yourself and your family, and let me know how you are feeling about 5th grade. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer! See you soon!
