• Meet Mrs. Schorpp

I love being an elementary school teacher!  There are so many topics that I am interested in and curious about, so I chose a job which allows me to explore a variety of subjects.  I enjoy helping students grow in their skills and interests.

I am a proud graduate of Juniata College with a degree in Elementary Education.  I have a Masters degree in Literacy from West Chester University and am a certified reading specialist.

I have a strong interest in history.  I attended a teacher's week at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center in Colorado to learn about Native Americans and attended Colonial Williamsburg's Teacher Institute in Virginia.  In the summer,  I continue to learn from the experts at Colonial Williamsburg by participating in webinars on using their methods in the classroom.  I am proud that with the help of some former students, we started an after school history club for 5th and 6th graders at Titus.   Our club gives history lovers a place to meet and expand their knowledge.

When I'm not in school, you can usually find me gardening, hiking with Mr. Schorpp, reading, or exploring thrift shops and antique stores.   Planning and doing home improvement or decorating projects keep me busy in the summer and on weekends.
