School Gate Guardian FAQ
-
What is purpose of the School Gate Guardian Visitor Management System?
Posted by:The purpose of the School Gate Guardian Visitor Management System is to protect our community from outside threats. The system scans the Name, Photo and Date of Birth of each visitor and compares the identity with the national sex offender registry.
-
If a visitor refuses to scan ID, or doesn't have a state issued ID, can they access the building?
Posted by:According to School Board Policy 907, all visitors are required to register with the school office. Visitors will proceed to the office door, wait for buzzer, then follow normal sign-in procedures. Office staff will manually key the visit into the School Gate Guardian system using their computer, take a photo of the visitor, and the system will then compare them to the national sex offender registry. Office staff will print a School Gate Guardian badge for the visitor.

Does this new procedure change when the external doors will be locked?
