    Today we practiced using imagery by writing a passage about our favorite place/the place we feel most inspired. We also worked to improve our use of imagery by revising this paragraph later--making our general writing more specific. After this we complied a list of traits and roles that define us when we are in that place. We will be using this list tomorrow to write an "I Am" poem.

    Today we edited our poems individually, then with a partner to ensure our poem could fulfill the rubric requirements.     Today we learned some Shakespeare-specific vocabulary (will not be on the test!) and worked with a partner to act out one of the characters from our prediction charts during a mock trial of Romeo and Juilet by the queen's court. This "trial" acted as review for the test, as it demonstrated how servants, lords, ladies, and noble children are treated in Elizabethan society.

    Today we got past quizzes back in order to study for the final Romeo and Juliet test on Friday. We then wrote about a time we saw someone in trouble, what we did in response, and why. After discussing what makes the difference between helping someone and being a bystander, we began reading and annotating an article about about why people become bystanders.
