The Microsoft Sway app is going away on all iOS devices (iPads in CB - iPads and iPhones everywhere) in December.  The program will live in Office 365 on any device.  Microsoft is no longer supporting a stand alone app on Apple Devices.

  • Twitter on iPads

Posted by JESSE SHAW on 3/23/2018 11:00:00 AM

With the recent interest and enthusiasm shown on Twitter in CB a lot of teachers have found that the Twitter App won't always work as expected:

Here is what you need to remember:

    1. When in Twitter App use FACUTLY-BYOD WiFi

It's that simple.  If you're not on Faculty BYOD then the wifi won't recognize you as an adult user and won't give you clearance for the Twitter App.

*Be mindful to watch your WiFi because it will switch tothe strongest signal you have signed into. Just look in Settings --> Wifi if something is not working that should. Airserver and other daily uses can be affected by the WiFi you are signed into.

The Apple Teacher program by Apple is an awesome resource for teachers in our School District.  I signed up for and completed the program when it came out in 2016 and I continue to see value in the time I committed.  The iBooks and the Apple Teacher Resources really bring together some of the best case uses for iPads in our classrooms and are updated all the time.  The details and the philosophy behind the program make it so valuable.  You can tell that the program is developed with great teaching and learning at its core.

    Check it out here:

  • Updates

Posted by JESSE SHAW on 4/10/2017

We all see the update messages pop up at the bottom of our screens: Laptops and iPads!

We all want to ignore them.

We all need to stop doing that :)

Please try to make the time to accept updates when you see them because we live in a world of constant revision, bug fixes, and updates when it comes to technology.  Avoiding the time it takes to update only causes more headaches down the road.

For example AirServer Universal should be on version and your iPads iOS should be on 10.3.1... if that's not the case, you might not see your device screen when you Air Play it.  A quick update will fix everything.
