Dear Super Second Grade Family,
As we begin our next week of Distance Learning, I wanted to reach out with a personal note. Governor Wolf's message closing schools for the remainder of the year was VERY difficult for me to hear and I am sure that many of you feel the same. I am missing the smiles in the morning, the noisy classroom of friends greeting each other, the laughter at our jokes, morning meetings, the sharing of math strategies, the excitement on your faces when you solved a problem or heard a great story, reading your clever stories, and the fun of playing together with morning tubs. And, I know that you are too. Even though I am not with you each day, I want you to know that my heart and my thoughts are with you EVERY SINGLE DAY. Yes, our days look differently now as we stay virtually in touch and learn together, but I am only an email away and I will always call you if you want to talk.
Remember when we would say the Pledge of Allegiance I would sometimes talk about how lucky we were to be given the opportunity that other kids in the world do not have. We are all given the chance to come to school to learn, grow, and become educated citizens. You STILL have the opportunity to learn. What I want you to realize now is that you have an even greater responsibility. The responsibility to independently do your lessons with pride, grit, and determination to learn. I KNOW that you will all continue to "grow your brains" each day right through the last day of school. I am so proud of YOU.
I am here for YOU.

Dear super second grade family,
It is Sunday night and I am sitting at my kitchen table thinking how lucky I am to be able to continue a relationship with all of you online. It is certainly not the same as being together in the classroom, but I feel blessed to still be a part of your day.
I just want to remind you of how very proud I am of your efforts to keep learning and growing your brains. Use this time to be creative, read good books, do random acts of kindness for your family, and practice gratitude for all we have in our lives.
Looking forward to the week ahead.
I miss you a ton and am sending virtual hugs and high fives!
Welcome to our classroom website! I am so excited that you are visiting. There is so much to learn and explore in second grade. On this site you will find useful information, practice pages, and links that will enrich your understanding of what we are learning in the classroom.
Be sure to explore and discover what's new. I know this is going to be a special year, as we have such a marvelous line-up of curious minds in our class!
I am looking forward to sharing the year together! Our classroom family will be a warm and welcoming place for each of you. !
Here's to celebrating new beginnings!
