•   Meet Mrs. Burger

Hello - I'm Mrs. Burger, and I'm so excited to be your librarian!
Did you know that I was born in New York, grew up in Bucks County, and even spent a year abroad living in Paris? Before becoming a librarian, I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Connecticut College and my first graduate degree from Holy Family University, with a concentration as a Reading Specialist. My career began in the Palisades School District, where I taught middle school for two years. I then found my niche in Central Bucks, where I taught second grade at Buckingham for thirteen years. When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my two boys, going to the beach, traveling and, of course, reading!

My love of reading is what led me to pursue my second graduate degree in Library and Information Sciences from Clarion University,
which is how I became a Library Media Specialist. I love that every day
is always a new adventure in the library, where I continually encourage my students to grow into avid readers and life-long learners.

Our library is a place where valuable information literacy skills are taught.
You will discover how to effectively use resources in the world around you
to solve problems, answer questions, access print and online materials, and evaluate and communicate information. These are tools that can be carried with you
    wherever you may go.

    It is my belief that
"teaching children knowledge gives them roots, while
teaching children how to learn gives them wings."
Our library is a place where we will grow both roots and wings and where
we will be empowered to become the best
readers, researchers, communicators and leaders we can be.
