• Welcome to 3rd Grade

    Dear 3rd Grader and Family:

My name is Mrs. Kathleen Ordile and I am excited to be your 3rd grade teacher this year!  I am looking forward to a fun and productive year together!

In our class, I believe it is important for every student to feel safe and respected.  We will work all year long to create a positive classroom community. This year will be challenging but we are in this together and I know we can overcome any challenge we are faced with! My favorite quote is “a person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”  by Albert Einstein. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake, we will all make mistakes, but we will all learn and grow from them this year! I want you to feel that you are in a place where you can be yourself, all while learning and growing to be the best you can be.  I also believe that the students, parents, and teacher must work as a team to achieve the goals in front of us.  I am so happy to be a part of that team with you!

As for me, I was born and raised in Doylestown. I am a proud CB alum, I attended Kutz Elementary, Holicong Middle and I graduated from Central Bucks High School East (Go Patriots). Following high school, I traveled down south to Virginia where I attended Roanoke College. At Roanoke, I graduated with a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. I moved to Northern Virginia (outside of Washington DC) and began teaching for Fairfax County Public Schools. I taught sixth grade at Fort Belvoir Elementary School for 7 years. After meeting my husband, a Washington DC firefighter, we decided to move back north to be closer to family. I was excited about returning to Central Bucks and the school district that grew my love of learning! I returned to Mill Creek Elementary and taught PEN before moving to Groveland and teaching fifth grade and now third grade! This will be my seventeenth year teaching (time is flying, and I am still having fun!)

Besides being a teacher I am also a proud mom. I have an 18 month old son named Christopher and a 3 year old daughter named Annaliese. Our free time is filled with running around after these two, but it is worth it! Some of my favorite things to do are baking and gardening. I love being outdoors, especially at the beach! My happy place is Duck, NC located on the Outer Banks. I am an absolute die-hard Philly sports fan, especially the Eagles and Phillies. I love sports and was a student athlete growing up. I played Softball, Soccer, Basketball and Field Hockey.

School starts on Tuesday, September 5th. Here are a few things to remember as you get ready for the new school year:

    • Bring a dismissal note so I know how you are getting home safely.
    • Bring a lunch or lunch money that is clearly labeled with your name.
    • Bring a small, healthy snack.
    • Bring your school supplies.
    • Bring in your excitement and a positive attitude! (Don't forget that SMILE :))

Enjoy the last few days of summer and rest up for Third Grade!

    Sincerely,

    Kathleen Ordile
