Welcome to Ms. McCullion's Class

  • Dear 5th Grade Families,

Hello and welcome to Room 212! My name is Casey McCullion and I'm so excited to be your child's fifth grade teacher! I can't wait to get to know your child and embark on this exciting journey with them! Fifth grade is a year of new challenges, exciting adventures and new transitions that will open a new world of learning for the students!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. This will be my fifteenth year teaching and my 8th at Groveland! I grew up in Philadelphia and I'm a huge fan of the Flyers, Phillies and the Eagles. I went to College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts, where I was a member of the Women's Ice Hockey and Lacrosse teams. I earned my Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. I've had a great summer hanging out with friends, family, and my Golden Retrievers, Horton and Ruthie. Like you, I'm looking forward to the last few weeks of summer before we get started!

I know many of you may be wondering what your child will be learning throughout this school year. Fifth graders will continue to develop fundamental work habits, problem solving skills, and, of course, academic skills. We will use technology in fun and creative ways this year, but we will also put the laptops away and go "old school" quite a bit, as well! If you are interested in specific academic standards for fifth grade, you are invited to visit the Central Bucks School District website at www.cbsd.org, click on curriculum at the top. I hope to make your child's learning experience a fun and exciting one, and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's years of schooling.

I look forward to meeting all of you at Back to School Night on September 6 at 6:30pm. If you have any questions or concerns before the first day of school, please do not hesitate to email me at emccullion@cbsd.org! (Please note: I go by my middle name, Casey, but my email address uses my first name, Elizabeth).

Enjoy the few remaining days of summer!

    Sincerely,

    E. Casey McCullion
