Degrees and Certifications:
A happy hello my fabulous fourth graders and fourth grade parents! Welcome to our class website! I am so excited for you to be a part of our class community. I cannot wait to learn more about you during the first couple weeks of school! Here is just a little bit about me! I am a Central Bucks School District graduate starting at Gayman Elementary, continuing on to Holicong, and eventually graduating from Central Bucks East in 2000. Millersville University was my college of choice where I majored in Elementary Education and graduated in 2004. I began my career 16 years ago as a building substitute here at Warwick. That year I taught every grade, was in every classroom, and even taught a gym class or two in my fancy new teacher shoes! It was quite a learning experience and offered me the opportunity to learn and grow from some of the best that Central Bucks has to offer.
I began my career teaching in fourth grade but also ventured down to younger grades, first and second, and eventually back up to fourth. I enjoy fourth grade because of the independence that it offers you all as students and people. During my tenure at Warwick I also completed my Masters degree from Gwynedd Mercy College with a focus on reading along with a reading specialist certification. I am also a member of the National Writing Project and PAWLP, The Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project, where I learned how to develop myself as a writer and reader along with a teacher in both areas. Recently I completed more course work while being home on sabbatical which offered me a chance to enhance my 21st century teaching and technology skills. As you can see I LOVE to learn!
On a personal note this past May our family expanded by one more adding our beautiful daughter, Clarie Caroline Finelli, on May 13th 2020. She is the best addition to our family making it truly complete! Big brother Jack had to get use to her but is enjoying all her smiles and cooes as she gets older. This past July Mr. Finelli and I celebrated our eightth wedding anniversary. He loves to work with technology which allows me to tinker with it too! We have a very loving, kind, and opinionated son Jackson who turned five this past March. He is known to everyone in our family as JACK, and trust me you will be hearing about him a lot! He enters into kindergarten this upcoming school year which will be a whole new adventure for our family! He is excited to be going to a "big boy" school. We have had a fun summer exploring old things that have become new again through his eyes! My family means everything to me. I come from a large family of four girls which has grown with husbands along with nieces and a nephew. My parents are the BEST and have pushed me to work hard and to never settle for anything less than MY best.
I feel honored and privileged to be your teacher. We are going to learn and grow together each and every day. Get ready for a great year in fourth grade!
