    Central Bucks School District is now hiring

    Substitute Teachers for the 2021-2022 school year. 


     Act 91 of 2021 - Flexibilities for school years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 include - Per the Governor's website:

    • Retired teachers are now eligible to fill teacher vacancies on an emergency or short-term basis.
    • Schools can use eligible college students and recent graduates of education programs to serve as substitute teachers.
    • Educators with active Pennsylvania certificates and those with comparable out-of-state certificates can serve as day-to-day substitutes for 20 days, or longer under certain circumstances.
    • Teachers with inactive certificates may substitute for 180 days instead of 90 days per school year.
    • Individuals who are 25 or older, have at least 60 college credits or 3 years of experience as a paraprofessional, and complete training on classroom management, may serve as “classroom monitors” by delivering preplanned assignments for a teacher.

    Submit an online application through the CBSD Employment Portal. Clearances and background checks are required to work in a public school district and must be submitted with your application.     PA Certified Teachers

    If you hold an active PA Department of Education Teaching Certificate and would like to substitute teach in CBSD, apply to the Substitute Teacher - PA Certified Only job posting through the Employment Portal.  You will be contacted by our Substitute Coordinator with additional information.

    If you hold an inactive PA Department of Education Teaching Certificate and would like to substitute teach for a maximum of 180 days per school year, please also apply to the Substitute Teacher - PA Certified Only job posting through the Employment Portal.

     

    No Certificate but interested in substitute teaching?

    CBSD is offering a training module to earn an Emergency Certificate which will allow you to substitute teach in Central Bucks School District.  To apply for training, go to the Employment Portal and see the job posting for "Emergency Certification Training for Substitute Teachers" and click Apply. 

    If you already have an active/valid Emergency Certificate, you must still apply to the "Emergency Certification Training for Substitute Teachers" posting and upload your Emergency Certificate to the Certificate tab of the application.
