*If there is a delayed school opening due to inclement weather the morning rehearsal will be cancelled.

I wish for each student in the band to have an enjoyable, productive, and meaningful experience applying the skills learned in weekly lessons to making music together as an ensemble. To ensure that each student has the best experience possible certain expectations and requirements are necessary during morning rehearsal time.

    1. Preparation:

Each student must practice his/her assigned music at home, 3 times a week makes a difference.

    1. Materials:

Each student must have his/her instrument, band folder with music, and a pencil.

    1. Etiquette:

Once the conductor (Mr. Robinson) takes his place in front of the band, all instrument playing and conversation must stop, and students are to go to resting position. We will then warm up and tune before rehearsing the music. All students are expected to be cooperative, attentive, and on their best behavior at all times.

    1. Clean Up:

At the conclusion of rehearsal, everyone is expected to help put away chairs and stands.

Please sign and have your child sign the page 2 acknowledgement form, then have your child return it to me at their next band lesson.

Good attendance at morning rehearsals is essential to the success of our spring concert. Since band rehearsals are before school students will need to get a ride to Butler. Please drop off students at the atrium (gym/cafeteria side) entrance between 7:55-8:00am.

Thank you for your support! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any, and all questions.

    Mike Robinson

    Band Director
