Central Bucks South Symphonic Band
The Central Bucks South Symphonic Band is the top performing concert ensemble at Central Bucks High School South. The ensemble performs college and upper-level high school wind band literature and performs in a number of concerts and festivals throughout the school year. The CB South Symphonic Band participates in the PMEA Festival hosted by Central Bucks East every February, as well as the Symphonic Band Symposium hosted by West Chester University. In the past three years the ensemble has worked with world class conductors and educators such as Dr. Kevin Sedatole, Dr. Robert Carnochan, Col. Timothy Holtan, Dr. Andrew Yozviak, and others. Symphonic Band students are required to attend after school rehearsals throughout the year. It is highly suggested that all Symphonic Band students audition by way of the All-State Process every year, and participate in private lessons by an approved instructor. Members of the Symphonic Band are very serious about improving their musical abilities, and most have invested in professional model instruments. Auditions for Symphonic Band are held late Fall semester (for the following school year) for all students in grades 9-11.
