    UPDATE Feb. 2015:
Schoolwires now has a feature that allows it to host some videos.  Using the Premium Video App, you may upload videos of file type avi, mov, mp4, 3gp, flv, m4v or wmv.  See these instructions:

    Instructions PREVIOUS TO FEB. 2015:

How to Embed Videos in a Schoolwires Teacher Site

    1. Copy the embed code from the video hosting site

    2. Paste the embed code into an app on your Schoolwires site (see app details below)

It is also possible to post a link to a video on your site rather than embedding it.  Some advantages of embedding vs. linking are:
       - a link may change
       - an embedded video appears in a frame on your page with a start button to click on

    Where are videos hosted?

Schoolwires does not have enough space to host videos.  The video must be hosted on a source outside of Schoolwires such as TeacherTube, Screencast, etc.*

SchoolTube is another video hosting option.  SchoolTube is the CBSD video hosting site again for the 2014-15 school year.  Teachers may post educational videos to SchoolTube and then obtain the video code to embed directly into their Schoolwires teacher site.  Be sure to create a SchoolTube teacher account, not a student account!

Guidelines for Uploading Video Content to SchoolTube

    Use SchoolTube to host:

    o   Teacher created video lessons

    o   Documentaries

o   Instructional videos you downloaded legally and are licensed to redistribute

o   Student-created video projects to be used for instruction or as exemplars

How to embed a video in your site

Copy the embed code from the video hosting site and paste it into your Schoolwires site using one of these methods:
