Hello Fourth Graders!
It’s hard to believe that our summer vacation is nearly over and a new school year is about to begin. I hope that you and your family have had a wonderful summer. I have had a fantastic summer! I spent lots of time at the beach and enjoyed relaxing with my husband and family. I’m very excited about meeting our new class of fourth graders and getting started on another school year filled with fun and learning. I’ve already been into school a few times to begin to set up our classroom and get ready for the start of the school year.
Fourth grade is a fun and challenging year in school. We will do several projects and study many interesting topics in science and social studies. We will be doing a research project this year, in addition to working on other writing activities. You will continue to choose independent reading books that interest you to read in the classroom and at home. We will also read some great stories as class read alouds! Of course, we’ll have math each day and do many fun and challenging math activities throughout the year. Be sure to have those thinking caps ready!
We will have a working snack in our classroom sometime during the day, so please plan to bring a healthy snack of your choice. Please try to bring your supplies on the first day of school. You can access the list of requested supplies for 4th grade on this site. Please note that these are suggested supplies. If you are unable to get them or getting them creates a financial hardship, please let me know, and I will be happy to help.
I am excited to meet you in Room 204 on the first day of school! Please tell the adults you live with that I look forward to meeting with them at Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 1st at 6:30pm. Enjoy these last days of summer vacation! I know that fourth grade will be a fun and exciting year together!
