Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Michael Cox

This is my 23rd year with the Central Bucks School District. I teach AP European History, AP Psychology, Honors World History, Academic World History, Psychology and Sociology.
For my undergraduate studies I attended Clarion University earning a B.A. in History and B.S.ED in Social Studies. While at Clarion, I ran Cross Country and Track and was involved in Student Senate serving two terms, one as President. I also attended Temple University for my graduate studies earning an M.A. in History with a focus on U.S. and Soviet Cold War foreign policy. Prior to working at CB I was fortunate to teach a few months at Pimlico Secondary School in London, England.
I originally taught and also coached Track/XC at CB West from 1998 to 2004 until the opening of the 3rd high school in CB.  I was head coach of the boy's track & cross country programs from 2004 until 2010 when I stepped down to serve as an assistant coach so I would have more time at home with my growing and active family (20 year old, 18 year old, 8 year old!). I hold a USA Track & Field (USATF) Levels 1, 2, &  Level 3 license, which is the highest accreditation in the country, after completing a peer-reviewed study.  The first part of this article has been recently published in the track & field journal Techniques and the second part will be published shortly.  A digital version of the journal and article can be found using the following link:  The Long Sprint: Reclassifying the 800m.  In addition to working with the track program I also hold a USSF National D license and have coached with the Boy's Varsity Soccer team and outside of CB working with various youth clubs and individuals on soccer specific fitness development.
