Dear Fifth Graders,

          Welcome to 5th grade!  I am looking forward to experiencing many new things together.  We will inspire, teach and learn from each other and lift each other up along the way.   I am committed to making this year as special and unique as you are! Our classroom community will be a safe place to ask questions, share stories, take risks, challenge each other, celebrate our successes and learn from our mistakes.  We are in this together, and together we will succeed!  Be ready to work hard, grow as a learner, make new friends, become part of a classroom community, and most of all, have fun! 

          It is hard to believe this will be my 31st year teaching in Central Bucks. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade.  I hope you find 5th grade to be fun, yet challenging.  We have lots to look forward to, and I am thrilled to be on this adventure with you!

          When I am not at Groveland, I love to spend time with my family and friends.  My husband and I have two adult boys.  Gabe is 29, and Jack is 22.  Gabe is married to Lindsey and they have a 5 year-old cattledog named Finn, who is a bit crazy!  One of my favorite things to do is puppy-sit! Gabe and Lindsey own a house a few blocks away from us, and Jack graduated from college in January and works close to home.  We are always busy at my house working on home projects.  I am not one to sit around and relax, but when I do you will find me floating on a raft in our pool with a good book.

          So, now you are a 5th grader!  Let's make it awesome!! I am looking forward to seeing your smiling faces on Tuesday, September 5th.  I would love to hear from you before that, so feel free to send me an email to just say hi, share something about yourself and your family, and let me know how you are feeling about 5th grade.  Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!  See you soon!
