My name is Kristen Masciantonio, and I am a proud native of Pittsburgh.  I attended Pitt for both my undergraduate and master's degrees in education.  During my time at college, some of my favorite memories include working at the the university's child development center and cheering for the university's sports teams.  I am a devoted Steeler fan!

In 2001, I began my teaching career in Pittsburgh as an instructional support teacher in Mt. Lebanon.  Following that, I taught 4th grade for 7 years in Burrell School District.  However, when my husband's job required us to move, we settled in Bucks County, where I taught 6th grade for 6 years at Groveland.  Now, I'm thrilled to say that this will be my 6th year teaching 6th grade at Jamison!

I took a break from teaching for a few years when my daughter was diagosed with a brain tumor.  Thankfully, she is now off treatment, doing well, and growing stronger each day.  My family means everything to me, and I cherish every moment with them.  My husband works for Orgin/Jocko Fuel and enjoys coaching football and wrestling, while our son Dominic, who is 12 years old, shares his passion for sports and math.  Gianna, our little superhero, is 8 years old and loves playing with other kids, doing art, reading and riding horses.

Aside from teaching, I find great fulfillment in helping kids battling pediatric cancer and enjoy spending my free time running.  Teaching has always been my passion, and I am incredibly proud to be your teacher this year.  I look forward to an exciting and rewarding journey together.
