The 2022-2023 School Year!

Dear 6th Grade Student in Mr. Wyss’s Class,

I am happy to have you as a sixth grade Trailblazer and one of my “Wyss’s Pieces”.  Sixth grade is an exciting year where you will learn many fascinating things about: early humans and the rise of civilization, ancient Egypt, pollution, Earth’s changing surface and the human body in motion. 

There are some things that you should bring with you on the first day of school.

• 1 Sketch Book for Art (we encourage students to keep using their fifth-grade sketch book)
• 2 marble composition books
• 3 different colored plastic pocket folders with 3 fasteners in the middle
• Personal hand sanitizer

Our daily schedule is

8:40  WIN Time (What I Need)

9:10  MATH

10:30 RECESS then LUNCH

11:30 SCIENCE and SOCIAL STUDIES (Alternating)

12:15 SPECIALS (Monday: Library.   Tuesday: Music.   Wednesday: Gym.   Thursday: Quest.    Friday: Art.)

12:55 SNACK, CNN10, Read Aloud

1:30 READING & WRITING

3:00 PACK UP FOR DISMISSAL

Please bring your LAPTOP (charged) and CASE every day.  There is no need for the charger.  We do have a couple spare ones to borrow)

Notice Recess is BEFORE Lunch this year!  And snack is in the afternoon.  Water bottles are fine, too.
