• Dear 6th Grade Students and Families,

    I am very excited to have you in my 6th grade class this year. I am a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a degree in Elementary Education and History. Many of you may remember me from last year as your building substitute. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces. This year we will explore many exciting topics, from ancient civilizations and people in ancient India, ancient China, ancient Egypt, and the Middle East to the Human Body in Motion and the Earths changing surfaces. We will be reading some great stories across various genres and discussing their themes. In math, students will be able to grow more confident in their computational skills and become better problem solvers.

    Our school year officially start August 29, 2022. Our classroom number is 203. To get you started this year you will need:

    1. 2 marble composition books

    2. 3 different colored plastic pocket folders with fasteners in the middle

    3. Hand sanitizer

    4. 2 Boxes of tissues

    5. Clorox Wipes

     

    On the first day of school, please bring in any size pictures of you, your family or friends, and words/adjectives that describe you as an individual. The pictures and words should relate to you in some way (hobbies, favorite things to do, see, eat etc...). You may find these words or pictures in old magazines, newspapers, or print out from a computer. We will be making a collage with the pictures and words. You should have a total of 25-50 pictures/words/stickers/magazine pictures that represent you!

    Important Dates:

    · First Day of School is Monday, August 29. Come refreshed and ready to have a phenomenal sixth grade year at Bridge Valley!

    · Back to School Night for 6th grade is Wednesday, September 7 at 7:30 pm.
