Watercolor Portraits
For this project, students looked at the Renaissance time period and the use of proportions, perspective and foreshortening.  Based on these concepts, students learned about facial proportions and how to create a sense of depth in a picture.  After learning different watercolor techniques, students created self-portraits in watercolor showing correct proportions, a sense of depth to the background, and created all of their own color variations while painting.
