Gargoyle Mugs
Students in Mrs. Jones seventh grade art class made Gargoyle mugs in terra cotta clay.  Based on Gothic architecture from the Middle Ages, gargoyles were decorative rainspouts made with opened mouth faces. We designed four and then chose either a human, animal, mythological, or a mixed up creature to incorporate into a ceramic mug.  We used hand-building techniques and added features to a coil pot to complete our Gargoyle inspired designs.
