The Three Musicians – ‘Unami style’

Students created collages based on Pablo Picasso’s “Three Musicians.”  To help us with our sketches, student volunteers posed as the three figures in the painting.  We used paint and paper, burlap and string to bring our designs to life.  Picasso was responsible for inventing collage, which evolved from his Cubist style of geometric shapes in a flattened space where everything is observed and then redesigned with a great deal of “creative license.”  We hope you enjoy our experimentation with Cubism and collage…thanks to 8-B and 8-A and Picasso for the inspiration.
