CB South Cluster

Welcome to the Central Bucks School District’s South Cluster.  This opening communication is being sent to all eight schools in our learning community.  In Q & A format, we want to introduce you to the cluster concept and anticipate questions you may have on how it can positively impact students.

What is the Central Bucks South Cluster?

v     The C.B. South Cluster consists of all schools whose students currently attend C.B. South High School or who are slated to attend C.B. South in the future.

Why is Central Bucks using the cluster design?

v     As you know, the student population of our school district continues to grow.  With three high schools, we realize that we must look for different ways to increase communication, promote student achievement, and encourage collaboration in making decisions.

How does the C.B. South Cluster work?

v     Since our cluster shares the same student population, our schools — and our learning culture — are linked.  Our elementary and middle schools will have a high level of sharing with one another and C.B. South.  There will be more communication with teachers between levels — all focused on helping students through the grades.

Why is clustering an exciting step forward?

v     We have the ability to target ways to consistently impact achievement as a student moves from elementary to middle to high school.

v     We can adjust programs in the cluster as needed based on feedback and examination of factors which are intertwined with student success.

v     The home and the current and connected schools will be even closer.  There will be increased opportunities to communicate and work together to increase understanding and improve perception in transitioning to each level.

v     Administrators, teachers, and the community can investigate to meet challenges as they arise.

v     Program effectiveness can be examined from grades kindergarten through twelfth, always with a sense of common purpose that is continually refined.

Does the mission of Central Bucks change with clustering?

v     It will be enhanced.  The Central Bucks School District will continue its important work as a unified school system, with common expectations for all of its schools.  Cluster discussions and initiatives will further sustain our efforts to make Pennsylvania’s third largest school district continually more effective, more streamlined, and successful.

At upcoming parent council meetings, we will regularly bring information about the C.B. South Cluster.  Your support is appreciated as the C.B. South Cluster era begins, one which we hope will promote success by design.
