School Dances-

October 12                  7:30-9:45 PM                       8^th and 9^th grade Welcome Back Dance

January 11                    7:30-10:00 PM                    7^th, 8^th and 9^th Grade Winter Dance

February 22                 7:30-9:45 PM                       7^th and 8^th grade Charity Dance

April 18                        7:30-9:45 PM                       7^th and 8^th grade Spring Dance

Freshman Day-June 13 at Lenape Valley Swim Club

Times: Each dance begins at 7:30 P.M. unless noted differently above.  Please be on time!  If you know you will be late, you must turn a parent note in to the office in the AM on the day of the dance.

The dance ends at 9:30 P.M. for 7^th graders, at 9:45 P.M. for 8^th graders, and 10:00 P.M. for 9^th graders.  (Note the time changes from previous years.)  Please make sure that rides home are planned accordingly.

Admission:           

Dances for limited grade levels-The cost this year is $5.00 with a 2006-2007 Unami student ID card and $6.00 without an ID card.  Only current Unami students are allowed to attend Unami school dances.  There are no exceptions.

Dances for all grade levels- Tickets are required for any dance that all three grade levels can attend.  Tickets are sold prior to the night of the dance, and the cost is $5.00 per ticket.  Tickets are NOT sold at the door.  Dance tickets are limited in number to approximately 500 per dance.  Students should look for signs posted around the building and listen for morning announcements to learn when and where tickets go on sale for an upcoming dance.  Students must show their ticket and school ID to enter the dance.  Students without a school ID can purchase a replacement ID for $2.00 in the school library.   

Dress Code:  All students attending Unami dances are expected to dress according to the Unami dress code policy.  This policy can be found under the parent section of the Unami web page.

Refreshments: Juice and snacks will be provided free of charge to students in the auxiliary gym.  Pizza will also be available for sale at a cost of $2.00 a slice, and candy is available for sale at some dances (prices can vary).  Pizza and candy will be sold on a first come first served basis while supplies last.  Sales will begin at approximately 8:30 P.M.

Chaperones: Parent chaperones are needed!  Please email hherwig@cbsd.org or sign up at Back-to-School Night to assist with school dances for the 2006-2007.  Parent chaperones are contacted approximately two weeks prior to a dance.  You may not be needed for every dance.

Additional Notes:            Students that will be late arriving or need to leave early must have a note explaining the reason.  Please turn notes in during the school day to the main office.  Students arriving after 8:00 PM may not be allowed to enter the dance, if a note from a parent is not provided.

Students that were not in school the day of a dance, or were sent home sick, are not permitted to attend the dance that night.

Students are not permitted to leave a dance early unless a parent arrives to pick up the student.  Parents should come in the building and alert a staff member to the situation.
