My Hero

My hero would have to be my Mom. One day, while my sister and I were playing around, we decided to play with our hamster, Casper. We thought we would race to get the hamster to see who could get Casper first. Unfortunately, my sister beat me and got Casper first. As I cam down the steps, my sister was rattling the hamster cage. No matter how hard she jiggled it, Casper would not wake up. I called to my Mom. “What’s wrong,” my Mom asked. “I think Casper’s dead,” she said as she checked on him in the cage. We all started to cry. I stopped right away because then I remembered that everything has to go at some time. Flowers have to wilt and rivers have to dry up. Sadly, even the Twin Towers collapsed last year on 9/11. In conclusion, my Mom is a special hero because she soothes and comforts me in sad times.

Super Hero's

Superman, Spiderman, Superwoman, Batman. These are all super heroes. I know real heroes. The heroes of September 11, 2001. I don’t know their names but I do know they will be in my heart forever. It takes great courage and bravery to run in a falling down building to save a stranger. 911 changed the way I look at life. I appreciate everyday I live now. Every piece of food I eat, every drop of water I drink tastes better now that I realize all that I have. There’s only one more thing I can say, “God Bless America”.

September 11th

They hit the towers but missed America, our faith and love in our country is that of which will always be standing. And although our minds can forget the confusion, our hearts can never forget the pain of 9/11.

September 11th : The Tale of The New York Tragedy!

When the sweet summer breeze brushed through New York, citizens felt an encouraging, new day upon them. Not realizing if it was a good or bad one, they left for work. Office workers fiddled with keys and pens, while firefighters practiced drills and more drills. Each person did their job and did it well, but no one was prepared for the upcoming events.

At exactly 8.47 am, American flight 11 came raging down from the sky heading directly for the North Tower. Down below, people watched horrified as it crashed into the tower, fumigating a horrific fire! Screams filled the air and pierced many ears. As one man put it, “ they were so loud and vigorous that people standing next to each other couldn’t even hear themselves talking!”

Soon after, a second plane hit the south tower and from then on, people knew this was no accident. Two towers were now burning fiery red. As smoke darkened the clear blue sky, a breath-taking image of Satan’s face appeared. The work of the devil was in spirit, rambling through New York. Firefighters risked their lives rushing into the building saving thousands. Many survived, but they still couldn’t replace the thousands still stuck in the building and buried under the rubble today. The sight was unbelievable to not only New Yorkers but to the nation and the world. Thankfully, the divine spirit showed us hope when the firefighters raised the flag and discovered steel beams standing in the form of a cross.

As I watched this horrific scene over and over on TV, the more clearly I knew how friends and family members were feeling. My own father lost his friend and colleague who went back into the World Trade Center to save others. It wasn’t until that evening that my dad informed me he was supposed to be there for a business meeting. How lucky for my family and me, he had to fly to Missouri for business and not go to the Twin Towers. I knew from that point on, life was going to be very different from the past years. Hopefully we will last through this tragic event and regain our pride and composure.

Driving by many houses the past few weeks and months, I have seen a great deal of American recognition and pride. Flags fly freely through the wind and commemorative walls stand hard as a rock with the names of heroes engraved on them. Before these attacks, there was very little pride and spirit in America. In years to come, I hope we will not forget what happened and keep our American pride strong within us!

September 11th

September 11, 2001, a day America will always remember. 9/11, a day we lost so many lives. 9/11, a day we found so many heroes. True heroism was shown by brave firefighters and police officers. Americans joined together to show patriotism by hanging American flags, wearing red, white, and blue, and singing patriotic songs. The scars and pain will never go away, but Americans will always stay strong. September 11, 2001, a day America will never forget.

Firefighters

All my life, I’ve wondered when I would meet a hero, until September 11th. I realized that firefighters had a very important part in 9/11. A hero can be any person that can save someone or do an important thing in your life. Firefighters can be big heroes. They have a very difficult job. In some ways their job can be difficult, going into burning buildings and saving peoples lives. They risk their own life for other people they don’t even know. They have to do training while their own kids are waiting for them to come home. Some don’t get paid, they can be a hero and save people’s lives. When that tragedy happened, firefighters did not know if they would live or die. They also didn’t know if they could save anyone. They didn’t know what was going to happen. Now I have heroes to look up to, firefighters.

September 11th Changed Our Lives

Have you thought of the positive changes since that tragic day in September? Well, a variety of people have come together and worked as a team to help the broken-hearted people who lost their cherished friends and loved ones.

A charity that helped raise money and other goods was the American Red Cross. However, it was not the only charity at that time. Even our own school, Titus, was collecting money for boots. All the work paid off when the firefighters enjoyed their forty-two pairs of work boots, thanks to the staff and students of Titus.

A large population of loved ones were lost, but not the spirits of the United States, which made our country grow stronger. American flags that were hung were a tremendous help in healing Americans.

They wanted to change America to a depressing and hateful country. They did not succeed in that, but they succeeded in raising our spirits.

God Bless America!
