Bucks County Autism Support Coalition

The Bucks County Autism Support Coalition is a community-based group focused on maximizing the personal development of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

This group is comprised of educators for local school districts and intermediate units, mental health professionals, physicians, behavior specialists, and parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

March 21st was the official “start” to this group.  Over 120 interested participants gathered to hear Nina Wall-Cote and Claire Choutka, from the PA Department of Welfare, discuss state initiatives in the field of Autism.  The second part of this meeting was cross-collaborative dialogue focused on the potential for this newly formed Coalition.

From the initial meeting a steering committee was formed to create a mission statement and goals from the feedback collected on March 21st.

Although we are still in the planning stages, many great ideas and plans are being created to provide information, education, training and opportunities for our children and the community at large.
