Please bring your pencil and sketchbook to art class.

November/December 2010-Fifth Grade has completed their monochromatic logo paintings. Students focused on Value while creating tints and shades of their colors.  

Fifth grade artists are currently drafting designs  for  their ceramic pizza slices. Students will be writing receipe cards to accompany their slice of the pie!

Students are working to create "realism" in all of their original toppings for their pies. Check out the visual and tactile textures that the students created on their toppings. 

 Our Pizzas should be "cooked" just in time for the Avenue of the Arts!  Be sure to look and not touch.... you may want to eat before you view our tasty pies! 

January 2011-Fifth grade is learning about one point perspective. Students are learning how your eye level affects the perspective in drawings and paintings.

March~ 2011- Fifth grade is starting their Impressionistic Painting Unit. Students will be using their prior knowledge of monochromatic/values in their paintings . Students will be inspired by Monet and other French Impressionists.

May/ June

Fifth grade students are completing their pointillism paintings and are currently working on their observational drawing skills. Students are drawing their sneakers. It is amazing what designs are on the sneaks!
