A goal of Tohickon Middle School is for all students to participate in some type of service learning. Each academic team participates in a service-learning project each year. Often a project is designed by the students based on their interests.
The community service program is coordinated on a volunteer basis. Students are aware of service opportunities by listening to announcements made on the Tohickon Morning Show. We encourage all students to listen to the announcements for the extracurricular volunteer activities with which they can become involved! A number of teachers plan community service projects that take place during and after school. We work throughout the course of the year to add new and exciting opportunities for our students.
The Tohickon Service program is a huge endeavor and is successful because of the generosity of our parents, students, staff and administration! Our community service program is alive and growing and each year we hope to get more adults involved in making service opportunities available to our students. Students and parents who may have new ideas for our program or wish to become involved are encouraged to email Ms. Samoni mailto:jsamoni@cbsd.org or stop by room 304 during resource. 7th and 8th grade students may also approach their Team Leader Teacher to discuss service events that are team based.
Below is a list of some activities that we plan to participate in during the next few months. Events may be added to this list as the year goes on.
