9th grade sports: Effective for the 2011-2012 school year, 9th grade sports will no longer be offered at the middle school level.  All interested 9th graders must participate in their respective sports at the high school level.  Click here for the contact information for the coaches at each high school.

NEW 2011-2012 Sports Physicals (click here)

PIAA regulations governing interscholastic athletics require student athletes to undergo proper medical examination prior to their participation.

To tryout/practice for sports you will need the PIAA’s Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation which is required for all students who wish to participate in a school sport. The form is not valid for school sports unless it is dated June 1, 2011 or thereafter and will be valid for the entire school year. In addition to the physical evaluation, students need to have the Code of Conduct and the Emergency Contact Form completed by their parent/guardian. All three of these forms must be on file with the coach in order to participate.
If a student participates in another sport during the same school year, they do not need their physical recertified by their physician unless they’ve suffered a serious injury/illness that caused the student to miss ten (10) days of school; miss 50% of games/contests; or suffer a season ending injury. Otherwise the original physical is valid for the entire school year. Parents do need to complete section 5 of the physical form and the Emergency Contact Form.

  Academic Eligibility

Participation in a PIAA activity places the student’s name on the coaches’ eligibility list for the season. Any student that has two “D”s or one “F” will enter a 2-week probationary period in which they must raise their grades. Failure to rectify the grade issues will render the athlete ineligible. The student’s parent/guardian will be notified when this process is put in place
