College application procedures and deadlines:
You must arrange to have your transcript sent directly from the Guidance office. For a college to consider a transcript "official" it must be sent directly from the high school. No official transcript will be given to a student to mail with their application. Please print in a transcript request form for every college/university to which you are applying. Please take note of application deadlines. You must fill out the transcript request form 15 school days before the college application deadline to assure your transcript will arrive at the college on time.

Mid-year grade reports are automatically sent to every college to which you apply. Final transcripts are sent automatically to the college in which you plan to attend. This process is initiated when you complete your senior survey before you graduate. Senior survey will be completed via Naviance at https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=cbhseast

Please be aware of college application deadlines. We cannot assure you that applications not meeting deadlines will go out in sufficient time. As a student, you are responsible for mailing:
· Signed & completed application
· Application fee
· Essays when required
· Personal data sheet
· Student must arrange for official SAT (or ACT) scores to be sent (if required)

Guidance will send:
· Secondary School Counselor Evaluation/Recommendation - if you need a counselor recommendation sent to a college, you must first fill out the counselor recommendation questionnaire in Naviance and indicate on the transcript request form that a counselor recommendation needs to be sent.
· Transcript with SAT/ACT (you, the student, must fill out a transcript request form)
· CB East High School Profile
· Confirmation of receipt post card (only if being mailed)

Check Naviance, the Guidance bulletin board and listen on the morning announcements for college visits. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with admissions representatives. Sending a follow up email or thank you note to the college rep can earn you brownie points too!!!

Remember to contact teachers ASAP if you are asking them for letters of recommendation. Be sure to provide your resume and stamped, addressed envelopes for each college.

Also, please use the Naviance program to assist you in your college search. With this program, you can compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted to those schools in the past. Log-on information was mailed home and distributed in homeroom last year. The link to log into Naviance is: https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=cbhseast

Feel free to make an appointment with your counselor if you have any questions.
