Welcome to the home of all information regarding the renovation and addition at East

 After years of planning under the supervision of Dr. Laws, our renovation and addition project broke ground in the fall of 2010. The addition will add a new science and technology wing to our building, extending from the front toward Holicong Middle School. Over the duration of the renovation (scheduled for 4 years), every area of the building will be renovated, with a major focus on making East the most hi-tech school in the area. Pictures of the work in progress are updated regularly on our homepage and kept as a timepiece in the folders below. We are very excited to bring this renovation to East as our amazing students and staff are very deserving. Through the completion of this project, we look to showcase the beautiful, functional, and inspiring aesthetics, facilities and technological capacities for the Central Bucks High School East community.

Timeline of events:

• Fall 2010 - Preparations for the project underway, including fencing, staging and ensuring all permits were fulfilled. Teacher and student schedules developed to maximize use of our available rooms.
• Winter 2010-2011 - Demolition of first and second floor for new wing completed. Construction in this area began, including electrical, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and data. Retention basin work completed. Walkway along Anderson Road and Holicong Road began. Footings and foundation for addition began.
• Spring 2011 - Building of addition. Completion of walkway. New storm sewer pipe installed.
• Summer 2011 - Continue construction of addition. New water retention basin built in front of school. Major electrical and plumbing/HVAC work completed.
• Fall 2011:

 

• The bathroom tiling is complete and the fixture installation continues
• Flooring tile installation is in progress
• Ceiling tile installation is in progress
• Installation of room cabinetry and furniture is underway
• HVAC – New boilers up and running
• Installation of new lighting system (energy efficient and occupancy detecting)
• Solar panels installed and working on the roof of the new wing
• New school signage being constructed to replace the old
• Installation of new outdoor lighting underway

 

 The projected completion date of Phase II is January, 2013. Below is a list of the major stages of Phase II of the project.

 

•  Front left wall of the building will be removed and replaced with a temporary wall as they begin to build a new exterior wall to the front of the building
• The new exterior wall will match the façade of the new wing
• Old science and foreign language classrooms will be gutted and redesigned
• Main Office and lobby areas will be demolished and replaced by:
• One main entrance with open lobby design featuring an open main staircase
• New main office
• New nurse and attendance offices
• 3 new house offices
