SEARCH ENGINES

This site is designed to be a useful, easily accessible directory of excellent scholastic resources on the Web. Designed to support schools, libraries, parents and teachers, the site is structured to facilitate your search for help with homework and other school projects in all of the major K-12 subject areas.
Central Bucks School District is moving toward using an online citation creator.  At Pine Run we use "Noodle Tools" for our bibliographies.  Click on this link to go to Noodle Tools.  Students who have already registered in the library can use their existing username (first name last name - no spaces) and password (pinerun)

Scroll down a little to find some of the most helpful search engines for kids.  A short description of each engine is provided.

Additional search engines can be found on the Central Bucks Elementary Library Resources pages.

 http://school.nettrekker.com/frontdoor/

This award-winning educational search engine brings the best of the web to K-12 students, teachers, librarians, and parents. netTrekker d.i. connects you and your students to more than 180,000 hand-selected, educator-approved sites - organized by readability level and aligned with your state standards, providing resources ideal for every student's learning needs with safe, reliable results.

 http://www.google.com
To enter a search into Google, just type in a few descriptive words and hit the 'enter' key (or click on the Google Search button) for a list of relevant web pages. Since Google only returns web pages that contain all the words in your search, narrowing your search is as simple as adding more words to the search terms you have already entered.

http://clusty.com

Clusty organizes Web sites found by other search engines.  It "clusters" the sites together making it easier to find Web sites that are alike or have similar content. This is helpful when you start your research by showing you subtopics in an organized way.  It's different, but worth a look!

http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/KidsClick!
KidsClick is a directory style search engine created by librarians.  Use the directory to find the topic you want or type your keywords in the search box.  This site does not allow advertisements.
