Behavior Management Contract

Assignment Policy
Absence From Class Due to Illness
 | Students and parents should refer to teachers' web sites for class
announcements and assignments. |
 | On the third consecutive day of an absence, parents may contact the
office to request work. The work will be submitted to the office and
parents may pick up the work at the end of the school day. Please be aware
that any work request submitted after 12:30 PM may not be ready for parent
pick-up until after 3:15 PM. |
 | Students will have five days to complete the missed assignments and/or
conference with teachers and schedule time to complete the work. |
Absence From Class Due to Reasons Other Than Illness (e.g.
athletic contests, extracurricular activities, artistic performances, etc.)
 | Students who are in school for any part of the school day are required
to submit all work due that day and record/collect all homework and class
work. |
 | Students are expected to prepare for upcoming class assessments,
including completing out-of-class assignments, for any missed classes or, at
the discretion of the teacher, schedule time to complete work with the
teacher. |
 | Students are expected to prepare themselves to participate in class
activities and assessment upon return. |
Absence From Class Due to Vacation
 | Students are expected to request the vacation forms from the main office
one week prior to the vacation. |
 | Students are expected to conference with their teachers to gather work
to complete either before or during their vacation. |
 | All work assigned by teachers is expected no later than the second day
upon return from the vacation. |
Late Assessment Policy
 | Long-term assessments will lose 10% credit for each
school day the assignment is late. |
 | After ten school days, the assignment is worth zero
points. |
Late Homework Policy
 | No late homework will be accepted. Students will complete a
Missed Assignment Form to turn in in lieu of missing homework. |

Second
Chance Learning Policy
 |
Second-chance learning is available to students
who score less than a 70% on a major/summative assessment and who have
completed the unit review sheet. |
 |
An assessment score can be
increased to a 70% through second chance learning. The second chance
task may take the form of an alternate version of the assessment. The score from the second chance assessment will
replace the score of the first assessment. |
 |
Students choosing to take
advantage of second chance learning to increase their proficiency must first
complete the unit review activity, spend either Resource or after-school time with
Mrs. Dorman for a re-teaching session, and review on their own. After
completing these steps, students are eligible for a second chance assessment. |
