For Parents - There are many resources you should find helpful throughout this web site.  There is a great fee-based homework helper and classroom extension service powered by the Discovery Channel.  The service is called COSMEO.    You can read about COSMEO at eSchool News online.  Visit the Discovery Education site for additional helpful information for you and your child.  Your child can also visit PJ Pinchbeck's Social Studies Homework Helpers and Kathy Schrock's Guide for Social Studies hosted by Discovery School.

Welcome to 9th grade social studies. You should be excited for your first year of high school. You can expect this course to be rigorous and a lot of fun. You will leave this class armed with the ability to see through the shades of truth in history and to construct and support your own evaluations. You will master communication and comprehension skills while you gain a thorough understanding of the trends and events that have shaped the America of today.
