January 2007
Dear Parents,
We continue to be very proud of the performance of our
students on the PSSA standardized tests that are used by the Pennsylvania
Department of Education to measure student achievement in schools in state.
The results of the PSSA tests are summarized and reported in order to meet
the requirements of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) act of 2001. The attached NCLB
report card summarizes the proficiency levels of our students in
reading and mathematics.
While these tests are an important indicator of student performance, they
do not tell the whole story about our school. Test scores are only one
indication of the performance of our students, and I continue to be very
proud of the work that I see our students do each day. As I reflect on
the daily performance of our students, a few key "Points of Pride" come to
mind:
Our school is a partnership of exceptional teachers, dedicated support
staff and involved parents. Our grade level professional teams are
balanced with every teacher bringing a uniqueness to the team that helps to
address the needs of all students. Teachers are eager to learn the Central
Bucks pedagogy of instruction and are enthusiastic and proud of their work.
Our support staff is child centered; they step in to help out whenever
needed: greeting our children every day with a smile. Our
parents are enthusiastic volunteers providing extra opportunities for our
students, such as: Winter Enrichment, Family Fun Nights, Book Fairs, school
and playground equipment.
Families in our school are dedicated to serving their community.
Our school sponsors the Mitten Project, has raised money for playground
equipment for students in Mississippi,
collects for local food banks, and gathers to support Liana's Legacy. Our sixth graders earn gold, silver
and bronze eagles for their service to our school community.
The Doyle community is committed to the arts. Three times a year our
students have a choral performance and exhibit their fine arts in the Avenue
of the Arts. The Art Mobile visits in the spring and Art Goes to
School reaches every classroom. Our Home and School purchased a kiln and a
new sound system to support our arts program.
I would like thank parents for the support you provide to
your children as well as for the continued support you provide to our
school. Please click below to review the PSSA test summaries that make
up our school's NCLB
Report Card 2007.
Sincerely,
