I.B. THE RESEARCH PAPER

 A research paper is a written presentation of facts and ideas about a specific topic.  You will accumulate information, select what is important, and eliminate what is not important in order to organize for a single purpose.  Sources of information may include books, magazines, films, radio and television shows, and personal interviews and surveys.  Then you will blend information from these sources with your own ideas and interpretations to support or defend the controlling idea of the paper.

Your job is to develop a thesis, present your support in a logical order, express it clearly, give proper credit to each source as it is presented, and add your own original ideas and insights.
