Hispanic Heritage Month
celebration is September 15 - October 15, 2007. National German Week is celebrated from September 30 - October 6, 2007. National French Week celebration is November 5-7, 2006. The American Association of Teachers of French identified a major theme for each day of National French Week. These themes included: Cuisine, Science, Technology, and Careers, the Arts, Community Events, Sports, Games, and Traditions, and also Music and Dance. National Foreign Language Week will be celebrated March 3-9, 2008. The theme for 2007 was: Languages - The Key to Common Understanding. National Foreign Language Week was inaugurated in the Spring of 1957 by Alpha Mu Gamma. Each high school has local chapters of the National Language Honor Societies. Students are invited to join the local chapters based on academic achievement. The induction ceremonies are in the spring. French | German | Latin | Spanish
