Kindergarten: Me and My World
The Central Bucks Social Studies curriculum addresses four strands of learning tied to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for history, economics, geography, and civics/government. Current events are discussed throughout the year, whenever appropriate.
This is a hands-on curriculum with student-centered, activity based classrooms. Students are given the opportunity to explore the world around them while answering essential questions such as: Who am I?; What is a family?; How do I get along with others?; How do I make friends?; How do I solve problems with others?; How can I be a good helper at school?; What is in my neighborhood?; How have certain Americans impacted our history?; Where am I in the world?; How can I help take care of the world? Involving the students in active learning is a priority in the presentation of this curriculum.
