	Social Studies § Discuss major events of the Revolutionary War. § Describe the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the structure of the U. S. government. § Identify landforms and bodies of water in the U. S. § Explain the differences among the middle, northwest, and southwest regions. § Analyze reasons for and results of the westward expansion. § Explain the essential role of elections and voting in our changing society. § Identify current events that impact upon the United States.
	Health § Discuss basic human needs. § Relate eating habits to growth and development. § Recognize emotional and physical changes as related to human growth and development. § Learn the differences between communicable and non-communicable diseases, including AIDS. § Discuss decisions and consequences relating to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.
	Phys Ed The Physically Educated Person: § Has learned skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities. § Is physically fit. § Does participate regularly in physical activity. § Knows the implications of and benefits from involvement in physical activity. § Values physical activity and its contribution to a healthful lifestyle.
	Library § Locate appropriate materials in all library collections. § Use appropriate reference sources, both print and electronic. § Collect, evaluate, and organize information. § Research and report on several topics. Write a full bibliography. § Use various non-print resources to retrieve and present information. § Demonstrate appropriate behavior with print and electronic resources. § Enjoy various forms of literature, including different genres of fiction.
	Art § Identify color values (tints, shades). § Identify analogous and monochromatic color schemes. § Use primary sketches and pre-planning to assist in making choices and improving ideas. § Construct a non-functional form using additive methods. § Apply the concepts of one-point perspective to a drawing that creates the illusion of three-dimensions. § Apply various aspects of pigment color theory (shades, tints, values, monochromatic, analogous) to achieve a creative solution to a visual problem. § Associate artworks from Paleolithic times to the Renaissance, with a historical time period based on stylistic characteristics, the use of materials and techniques, and/or other visual evidence present in the artworks. § Write a detailed description about the subject matter of an artwork.
	Music § Learn about European composers. § Recognize and accompany songs using I and V chords. § Awareness of C, F and G scales. § Awareness of accidentals (sharp, flat and natural signs). § Learn about American folk music styles. § Perform rhythms that include dotted eighth note. § Perform more advanced melodic and rhythmic ostinatos.
